Join us on Sundays in January and February for fun in the storyroom! Each week we will have new activities for your family to do together. No registration. Drop-in, Sundays 1:30-4pm
January 11: Let's Make Music!
Are you curious about musical instruments, making music, or the science of sound? Join us in the Children's Library this Sunday to explore a variety of musical instruments, discover how music and sounds are made, and make your own musical instrument to take home!
Join us at 2:00 in the story room for a guitar concert featuring local guitar teacher, Brannon Lyons, and a few of his students. Brannon will have a few kids-sized guitars to try out after the performance!
January 18: Hocus Pocus
Abracadabra! Alakazam! Get to the library as fast as you can! Journey through magic-themed centers, learn mesmerizing magic tricks and create spellbinding crafts. Your enchanted adventure awaits!
January 25: Art & Stories!
Families read the books together and then make art in the style of famous illustrators! Can you draw The Pigeon? Have you seen a cat? How do you make a rain fish? and more!
February 1: Roll-A-Dice Art: Black History Month Edition
Families will read and learn about some fabulous African American artists and play a Roll-A-Dice game to create your own art pieces from sketching to collages and mask-making! Just pick a project/artist, roll a dice to determine what goes into your piece, and create your own unique art piece inspired by artists Kimmy Cantrell, Romare Bearden, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
February 8: Toddler Olympics
Winter Olympics - Library style! See if you excel at speed skating and other playful versions of winter Olympic events. No training required!
February 15: Poké-Palooza
Calling all Pokémon trainers! Hunt for Pokémon hidden in the library, visit the Story Room to view episodes of the Pokémon television show, and test your trainer skills with games, trivia, and craft stations.
