Slovak Heritage

Olivia Beckage, a University of Pittsburgh student, will discuss the history of bobbin lace making by Slovak women in the late 19th century. Shaped by growing industrialization and Hungarian occupation, bobbin lace making in Slovak lands became a unique tradition in both mining towns and villages.
