Program Description

Event Details

Join us on Monday evenings in March (and one in April!) for a presentation on Appalachia!

This 6-week presentation will focus on the people, resources, food, folkways, arts, and music of the Appalachian region.  And yes, we Pittsburghers are Appalachian!  Additional resources will be provided in between sessions so participants can learn more about topics of particular interest.

Feel free to come to any (or all!) of the sessions!

Bio:  Rebecca Carpenter is a retired educator who now teaches in the Osher Lifelong Learning Programs at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.  She also travels about the Pittsburgh area investigating unusual, out-of-the-way, and interesting places and collects them for her "Who Knew?" series.
