In this one session workshop, join Jennie Snyder to create painted ornaments to gift to loved ones or hang around the home! Jennie is a Resident Artist at the Pittsburgh Center for Arts & Media and will guide participants through the basics of painting while they create unique, one of a kind ornaments.
Registration required. Limited to 10 participants. Adults only.
Jennie Kay Snyder is an award winning artist with a BFA in Painting and minors in both Drawing and English. She is best known for her watercolor paintings, and has exhibited and competed at regional, national, and international levels. She has been represented by galleries in major cities throughout the country, and her work is included in private and corporate collections throughout the world.
During her 40-year career, Ms. Snyder has taught drawing, painting, collage and other 2-D media to children and adults of all ages, and developed and implemented drawing programs in California, Oregon and Texas school districts. She designed and painted theater sets in California and Oregon, gave workshops and painting demonstrations throughout the West, and painted dozens of residential, commercial, and municipal murals and decorative embellishments throughout the country.
She has been represented by galleries in New York City, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Portland, (Oregon), Austin, Pittsburgh, and Warren, Pennsylvania, where she grew up. She is a featured artist in the watercolor book Splash 4, Romantic Homes Magazine (twice), and Women in Art 278, and her work has been favorably reviewed in the LA Times, Ventura County Star, and New York City’s Artspeak.
She returned to Pittsburgh in 2007, where she was a faculty member of the Fine Arts department at Community College of Allegheny County for 12 years. She is now the owner of her online shop which specializes in lighting and drapery she creates from salvaged antique and vintage lighting parts and textiles.
