Program Description

Event Details

Native plants attract and sustain wildlife- hosting butterflies, birds and bees while being easy to maintain. Join landscape architect Natalie Drozda, a Conservancy board member, for a presentation about how to incorporate native species in your garden plan and why it’s important.

This program will walk you through the process of how to research and select the appropriate plant material.

This program features plants available this year via the Conservancy’s spring sale, but the principles taught will give you confidence in choosing native plants you grow from seed or purchase elsewhere. Learn how to make an impact in our community with the contents of your garden!

Our presenter:

Natalie Drozda is a Lebo native who moved away and returned like a steelhead trout. After graduating from Penn State in 2006 with her BLA, Natalie joined the Philadelphia based firm Ruggiero Plante Land Design (then Ritter & Plante) where she still works as a Registered Landscape Architect, specializing in urban land redevelopment surveys and plans. She moved back to Lebo in 2016 with her husband Jonathan. Their family expanded with a daughter born in 2018. Natalie prefers to supplement her indoor career with a bit of the outdoors by donning garden gloves and removing invasive plants in Bird Park. She loves any excuse to ogle the wildlife and manage healthy spaces where all can thrive. In addition to her terminal botanical obsession, Natalie enjoys keeping her hands eternally busy by spinning yarn and creating textiles while listening to history audiobooks.
