HEMINGWAY’S THE KILLERS: Short story to painting to movie

Ernest Hemingway’s 1927 short story, THE KILLERS inspired Edward Hopper to paint THE NIGHTHAWKS in 1942. In 1946, Robert Sidomark translated both sources into the film, THE KILLERS, starring Burt Lancaster. Join Connie Booth and Elaine Wertheim for a three week exploration of story, paintings and movie.

Elaine Wertheim is a Mt Lebanon resident and friend of the library who has taught about art and film for 40 years.

Connie Booth, a retired Mt Lebanon High School English teacher, specializes in American Literature.
