Grubbs will share stories about two incredible woman in music who have impacted her growth vocalist Sheila Jordan and lyricist and librettist Dorothy Fields.
Sheila Jordan was an American singer and songwriter who pioneered bebop and scat jazz singing style, most notably with upright bass as the only accompaniment. Charlie Parker often introduced Jordan as "the lady with the million dollar ears”Lyricist and librettist Dorothy Fields was one of the most successful woman writers in ASCAP history, her writing spans over 4 decades and she has written over 400 songs such as “Sunny Side of the Street”, “I Can’t Give You Anything But Love”, “I’m In The Mood for Love.” Tania Grubbs will be joined by her husband and bassist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Jeff Grubbs.
