Program Description

Event Details

Drawing from his extensive research across diverse landscapes and a deep love of birds, Nick’s talk explores innovative solutions for reducing avian mortality in human-dominated environments. He offers unique strategies for fostering coexistence between birds and people. Join him to discover how we can create safer habitats for migratory birds.

Nick G Liadis is an avian conservation biologist based in Pittsburgh. His work takes him into urban, suburban, and rural areas to better understand how birds coexist with humans along this landscape gradient. Initially trained as an architect, he became involved in bird conservation through research on bird-window collisions. He founded Bird Lab, a nonprofit dedicated to studying and addressing human-related causes of avian mortality, particularly in cities.

This program is a collaboration between the Mt Lebanon Public Library and the Mt Lebanon Nature Conservancy.
